Our Bandage Wrapped Cheddar is made in the traditional English Style and remains our most popular and highly awarded cheese. The term “bandage wrapped” refers to the cheesecloth that is used to bind the wheel and protect the cheese while allowing it to breathe during the aging process. This semi-hard cheese is firm yet crumbly, straw-colored and has a nutty, slightly smoky, earthy and more round finish than most aged cheddars. Bandage Wrapped Cheddar is made from raw cow’s milk, hand crafted into 60 pound wheels and aged a minimum of 14 months.
Our Bandage Wrapped Cheddar easily stands on its own and is often used as the main attraction on a charcuterie board. It’s creamy sweet flavor compliments a wide variety of meats, spreads, nuts and fruits. Its firm texture has the tendency to melt in the mouth. Use this cheese to create a creamy Cheddar Ale soup, garnished with crumbled bacon. Try our Bandage Wrapped Cheddar when making a gourmet macaroni and cheese or in pancetta wrapped stuffed mushrooms.
Vacuum-sealed package may be stored for up to one year.
Once opened, tightly wrap the remaining cheese and store in an airtight bag up to 30 days.
